Together with some residents of the Mayview flats in Anstruther, I have arranged a public meeting to explore the possibility of setting up a Tenants and Residents Association.
We decided to do this because I have been contacted by several residents of the Mayview flats and surrounding streets who are unhappy that long-standing issues to do with the condition of the properties and problems relating to anti-social behaviour have not been adequately addressed by Fife Council and the police.
One way of having a more effective dialogue with Fife Council and other agencies is via a Tenants & Residents Association (TRA). It is all the more important the voices of people who live at and around Mayview are heard now that a question mark hangs over the future of the flats.
Raymon Gray, Chair of the North East Tenants and Residents Association, will be explaining how a TRA can help get problems addressed at a public meeting at Anstruther’s East Neuk Centre (11.30-12.45am) on 31 October. Everyone is welcome.
