Tinkling the ivories for the Fife Conservatives

Fife Conservatives are holding a fund-raising concert and reception on 11 April at St Leonards School Music Auditorium in St Andrews. The recitalist is my daughter Laura Newey, and the evening offers a truly ravishing programme. When she played the set at a sold-out concert in the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room a few weeks ago, the audience was visibly moved.

Luckily Laura’s musicality has nothing to do with her mother.

This is the first time Laura has appeared in St Andrews since she was little, and I am grateful both to the Fife Conservatives for giving her the opportunity, and to Laura for overcoming her embarrassment as my daughter and agreeing to tinkle the ivories for the Conservatives.
